My first fashion creation: Almost done!

I have been working on my first dress from scratch for a while now, (I took a long break), and I am now almost finished! All I have left to do is finish the straps, install buttons, and finish my hemline! I am very excited, as with most of my projects, I did not have a complete, solid vision of the exact final product when I started. I like to visualize as I go and be surprised at the end.

I must say, I am surprised at the dress I’ve created. I originally imagined it would be far more ill-fitting and less stylish haha. I have only encountered a few minor snags in the plan along the way, but they were easily remedied with small modifications. When you start a project with a very broad goal in mind, it is far easier to roll with the punches.

The best part of the project is that I know what craftsmanship went into it. I constructed it with pride and care, and I think it will remain in my wardrobe for years to come. I tried to   keep the style classic so that it will never fall out of style, and the hemline and neckline conservative enough to wear anywhere without being inappropriate.

I would post a picture of the nearly finished dress, but I’ll wait and give up photos as soon as all the final touches have been added. I’ll get fancied up and take a photo of me wearing it for my own entertainment :-) Perhaps someday, I’ll even get good enough to make a little money as a seamstress on the side!
